Seven years after buying Christchurch’s biggest office building to save it from demolition, the Crown has sold it to a property developer.
Huadu International Management Group has bought the former Inland Revenue building and plans to redevelop it as office and retail spaces.
Shops and hospitality outlets are planned for the ground floor.
The eight-storey, 16,000-square-metre building is on the corner of Cashel and Madras streets. Built in 2007, it has sat damaged and vacant since the earthquakes.
